Health Care Benefits Plan We understand how important health and wellness is to you and your family. That’s why we offer a comprehensive and cost-effective health care benefits plan. HNL Lab Medicine employees are offered a selection of two different medical plans, two levels of dental coverage and two levels of vision coverage. Employees can choose the healthcare plan that best fits their lifestyle; a standard low-deductible PPO plan with the option of two flex spending accounts (FSA) or a high-deductible plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) that provides greater flexibility and investment opportunities.
Employee premium rates are determined based on the level of coverage selected as well as annual base salary ranges. Enrolled employees and their dependents will be eligible for benefits as of the first of the month following the initial 30 days of employment. Part-time employees that are regularly scheduled to work 16 hours or more per week are also eligible for health care benefits.
Additional Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO)This generous benefit is accessible to all employees beginning on the date of hire. We offer between 56 and 288 hours of PTO each year based on length of service and scheduled work hours. New hires PTO allowances are prorated based on hire date.
Sick Time is available to eligible employees and is accrued on a monthly basis. Full-time employees earn 8 hours per month while part-time employees hired to work 20 or more hours a week earn 4 hours each month.
Retirement Saving for your future has never been more important. That’s why we provide a first-class Pension based on a Defined Contribution Plan for employees who meet the eligibility criteria. HNL Lab Medicine also offers a 401(k) Plan with matching employer contributions.
Group Term Life Insurance is offered at no cost to employees working 16 hours or more per week. The amount of coverage is directly related to employee’s position and annual earnings.
Short-Term Disability (STD) & Long-Term Disability (LTD) Plans are offered at no cost to employees. Together these benefits can provide full-time employees a continuation of income to during a prolonged illness or injury.

Tobacco Free Work Place HNL Lab Medicine screens all newly hired employees for nicotine and nicotine metabolites at the time of the pre-placement physical assessment to verify responses to the nicotine use question in the pre-placement medical form. A smoking surcharge is assessed to the benefits premiums for those benefit eligible employees who have tested positive for nicotine and nicotine metabolites. We offer an opportunity to learn more about and take part in smoking cessation programs.
